Michael R. Kelly

             

Michael R. Kelly (Mike) works as an attorney in the McKinney and Justice, PA Civil Division.  He is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, earned his Bachelor’s Degree, cum laude, with a double major in Theatre and History from Wake Forest University.  He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Elon University School of Law where he concentrated in litigation and business.   

After graduating from Wake Forest, Mike worked at Forsyth Technical Community College in the Institutional Effectiveness and Planning Office.  While at Forsyth Tech, he assisted in publishing the Forsyth Tech Fact Book for 2005-2006.    

At Elon University School of Law, Mike participated in Moot Court, was the President of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, and organized and directed the play Exonerated.  Also, in his third year of law school, Mike was awarded the Outstanding Family Law Student Award from the North Carolina Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.       

During law school, Mike worked with Leary Davis, Founding Dean of the Elon University School of Law, researching current issues affecting the practice of law.  He also interned at the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office and the Guildford County District Attorney’s Office.

     

Currently, Mike is an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the Greensboro Bar Association.  He is licensed to practice law in the North Carolina State Courts and the Federal Middle District Court.

  

In his spare time, Mike enjoys travel, running, theatre, and spending time with his family and dogs in the Lake Jeanette area of Greensboro.
