Tonia Furniss-Roe is a native of North Carolina, born in Greensboro. She is a graduate of Guilford College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management with a concentration in Human Resources.   Tonia joined McKinney and Justice PA in 2001. She worked as a real estate paralegal until she was promoted to Office Manager in 2004.

Wendy Mills

Real Estate Paralegal

  

     

Wendy Mills was born in Greensboro, North Carolina and has lived in the Greensboro - High Point area all her life.  Wendy has worked in the paralegal field for 13 years.  She earned her North Carolina Paralegal certification in 2006.  Wendy joined McKinney & Justice in June 2007, she concentrates in our real estate division.

Priscilla Almeida-Rankin

Immigration Paralegal

 

   

Priscilla Almeida-Rankin is a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.  She is fluent in both the Spanish and Portuguese languages.  Priscilla relocated to the United States in 2004.  In 2007, she graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Spanish from UNC-Greensboro, where she continues to take coursework towards a Master's in Spanish Literature.  Priscilla joined McKinney & Justice in 2007.  She works in the Immigration Division, concentrating on business immigration and removal cases.

Jonathan H. Ervin

Criminal Law Paralegal

 

    

Jonathan H. Ervin was born in Winston Salem, NC and raised in Edenton, NC. Jonathan earned an AAS degree from Pitt Community College prior to transferring to N.C. State University where he earned a BS degree in Horticultural Science. After working in the Horticultural industry for six years, Jonathan decided he wanted an opportunity where he could help others. While enrolled in the Paralegal Technology Program at Guilford Technical Community College, Jonathan joined McKinney & Justice in October 2005.  Jonathan assists the Criminal Law Division as well has manages the office file systems.

Mayra N. Martinez

Immigration Paralegal

   

     

Mayra N. Martinez is an immigration paralegal (bilingual English/Spanish) in our Wilmington, NC office.  Mayra earned her Associate's degree in Criminal Justice from Cape Fear Community College in 2007.  She is currently working towards her Bachelor's in Criminology and Sociology at UNCW Wilmington.  She participates in many community and pro-bono events, and recently attended the AILA National Conference in Las Vegas under a volunteer scholarship award for paralegals.  Mayra was born Mexico and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Lemlem Merga

Immigration Paralegal 

  

     

Lemlem Merga (Lilly) was born and raised in Ethiopia until she was 16 years old. During May of 1994, she immigrated to the United States. She is a graduate of Middlesex County College in Middlesex, New Jersey, where she received her Associates Degree in Communication. She became a Lawful Permanent Resident in 2001, and will soon seek Naturalization. Lilly has six years of experience as a paralegal, and has been working for McKinney and Justice, PA since 2003.

Geri Shomo

Immigration Law Clerk

  

   

Geri Shomo is a native of Tirana, Albania.  Geri earned his J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nebraska.  He is a honorably discharged veteran and a drilling reservist, of the US Navy, and served aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln CVN-72 during operation Enduring Freedom.  He is fluent in Spanish, Albanian, Greek and conversant in Italian.  Geri joined McKinney & Justice in 2009 and focuses primarily on removal defense, waivers and U visa cases.

Krista Cordell

Immigration Paralegal

 

   

Krista Cordell was born in Texas.  She subsequently moved to Washington State, North Carolina, and California.  She graduated from Guilford College with High Honors, receiving her Bachelors degree in Spanish, with minors in History and Math.  She also completed the intensive Paralegal Certification Program, and is now a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal.  She works in the Immigration Division, concentrating on removal cases and waiver matters.
